ICH and Formal and Non-formal Education: Roundtable Meeting for Sharing Experience of Turkey and Africa

As part of events in the framework of the 70th anniversary of UNESCO, “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Formal and Non-Formal Education: Roundtable Meeting for Sharing Experience of Turkey and Africa” was organized in İstanbul on April 1, 2015. The meeting was organized jointly by Secretariat of UNESCO, Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, Institute for Intangible Cultural Heritage and Gazi University Turkish Folklore Research and Application Centre and representatives and experts of 13 countries from Africa joined the organization.

Utilization forms of intangible cultural heritage in formal and non-formal education, transmission through education, importance of media for ICH education, ICH awareness of museums and its role in ICH education and the contribution of private sector and civil society to ICH studies have been discussed during the meeting.
